The development of skills, employment, and good personality among the students is the main responsibility of the government and the medium of education is a major deciding factor in achieving this goal. With this objective in mind, the Finishing School Initiative was launched in the year 2016 by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat, the Department of Education, and the Government of Gujarat. The objective of the Finishing School Training is to impart soft skills training and spoken English training to the students of Gujarat State and increase their employability.

Finishing School Training Structure

The Training Structure consists of 4 Segments

• Set- A (LIFE SKILL & EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS) - 20 Hours
• Set- B (FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH SKILL-1) - 20 Hours
• Set- C (LIFE SKILL & EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS) - 20 Hours
• Set- D (FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH SKILL-2) - 20 Hours

At AMPLC, two batches of Finishing School beneficiaries have successfully completed this training programme from 2020 to 2022.

SSIP is a policy developed by Government of Gujarat for providing assistance to Startupsand Innovation. This policy primarily facilitates and pre-incubate innovative ideas to go through a stage of proof of concept, prototype, product, testing & trial, redesign and deliver innovative solutions catering to end users. The broad objective is to harness creative potential of young students across universities and educational institutions.

Established in 2007 SCOPE is an initiative of the Government of Gujarat to build English language proficiency in the youth of Gujarat and thereby create employment opportunities for them by providing English language training to candidates. SCOPE programme is centred on three challenges of education - Access, Equity and Quality. SCOPE has been functioning since 13 years in association with Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge, UK for providing assessment, evaluation and international certification. Faculty members at GACR motivate the students for SCOPE training.

Saptadhara is a unique initiative of Government of Gujarat with an objective to facilitate all round development of the college and university students by offering them opportunities for participation in extracurricular activities. It provides a cultural platform to students where they feel the bliss of creativity. The colleges and universities across Gujarat are expected to focus on various areas of education, art and knowledge for the manifold progress of the youth. These areas of focus are known as Band/Cluster/Spectrum/Continuum/Symphony of Activities (Dharas):

Women Development Cell (WDC) at AMPLC has both the faculty members and students of the College as its members and works with an aim to create a gender sensitized community within campus as well as in the society. It has been organising varied academic, cultural and social events for the upliftment of women and spread the real importance of gender equality in the society through College students.

SC/ST/OBC /Minority Cell at AMPLC is committed to provide assistance to the SC/ST /OBC & minority students through counselling, personality development, development of communication skill, remedial coaching, tutorial classes, and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes, etc. The chief purpose of the cell is to bring the SC/ST /OBC & minority students at par with the main stream student body. The Cell has the faculty members and the student representatives as its members.

An individual’s physical and mental well-being is the concern of two similar areas of education: health education and physical education. College-based physical education is an activity aimed at the improvement of health-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour. As such this college organizes regular health awareness programmes and activities like yoga sessions, athletics, outdoor games etc. The students are encouraged and guided to participate in the sports competitions organized by the university and in KHEL MAHAKUNBH organized by the state government. Physical Education and sports activities in the college are looked after by the assistant professors on rotation basis.
